Terms of service

These terms apply when you use Mandoline at mandoline.tools. By using the service you agree to them. They're written to be read, not to scare you.

What Mandoline does

Mandoline converts newsletter images you provide into sliced, email-safe HTML, and can upload those slices and create draft campaigns in your own Mailchimp account when you ask it to. Email clients are a moving target; we work hard to generate HTML that renders reliably, but we can't guarantee pixel-perfect results in every client, every version, forever.

Free tier and paid plan

The free tier includes 3 projects. A project is one unique image, identified by its content fingerprint; re-editing or re-publishing the same image never uses another slot. The paid plan ($29/year) removes the project limit.

Payments are processed by our merchant of record; their checkout terms apply to the purchase itself. Refunds follow our refund policy: 14 days, money back, surprise renewals included.

Your content

Your images remain yours. You're responsible for having the rights to the images you use and for the emails you send with the generated HTML, including complying with anti-spam laws and your email platform's policies. Mandoline claims no ownership of anything you create with it.

Acceptable use

Don't use Mandoline to produce unlawful content or spam, and don't attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service. We may suspend accounts that do.

Your Mailchimp account

The Mailchimp connection acts on your instruction, under your Mailchimp credentials and Mailchimp's own terms. What you send from Mailchimp is between you and Mailchimp.

Disclaimers and liability

Mandoline is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Changes and termination

You can stop using Mandoline or request account deletion at any time. We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected here with a new date, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
